About the Right Triangle Calculator

What is a Right Triangle?

A right triangle is a triangle with one 90-degree angle. The side opposite the right angle is called the hypotenuse, and it is the longest side. The Pythagorean theorem relates the three sides: a² + b² = c².

How to Use

Enter any two known values (two sides, one side and one angle, or one side and the hypotenuse) and click Calculate. The tool solves for all remaining sides, angles, area, and perimeter.

Can I solve with only two angles?

No. Two angles only determine the shape (all similar triangles have the same angles), but not the size. You need at least one side length to find the actual dimensions.

What if my inputs are inconsistent?

The calculator checks whether the inputs satisfy the Pythagorean theorem within a small tolerance. If they do not, it will alert you to verify your values.

Are angles in degrees or radians?

All angles should be entered in degrees. The calculator displays results in degrees.

Is this calculator free?

Yes, BestCalc's right triangle calculator is completely free with no ads or registration required.
