What Body Type Am I? Take the Quiz

Four quick questions about how your body actually behaves — no tape measure required.

At a glance

The 60-Second Answer

The quiz asks four questions: are your shoulders wider than your hips, do you gain muscle easily, do you gain fat easily, and which shape describes you — thin and linear, athletic and muscular, or round and soft. Your answers score from -4 to +4: a total of -2 or lower means ectomorph, +2 or higher means endomorph, and anything in between means mesomorph.

How the Scoring Works

Each answer adds -1, 0, or +1 to your total. Ectomorph-leaning answers (narrower hips than shoulders, struggling to build muscle, staying lean naturally, thin and linear shape) pull the score negative; endomorph-leaning answers pull it positive. A perfectly mixed set of answers lands at zero — the classic mesomorph middle.

Answer Honestly, Not Aspirationally

The quiz only works if the answers describe your body's actual history, not your current fitness level. A trained endomorph may look athletic today — but if fat has always come on easily and muscle slowly, the honest answers still point endomorph, and the endomorph training advice will serve you better.

Prefer a Measurement?

The calculator also offers a wrist-to-height test that classifies your bone frame with a single measurement. Run both: if the quiz and the wrist test agree, you can be confident in the result; if they differ, you are likely a blend of two types, which describes most people.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the body type quiz take?

Under a minute. There are only four questions, each with three choices, and the result appears instantly with a description and training tips.

What if my quiz result disagrees with my wrist measurement?

You are probably a mixed type. The wrist test measures bone frame while the quiz measures how your body responds to training and food — blends like ecto-mesomorph are more common than pure types.

Can I retake the quiz after training for a year?

Yes, and it is worth doing. Answer based on how your body has historically responded rather than your current shape, but over years of training you may notice your honest answers — and your result — shifting.

Is the quiz result a medical classification?

No. Somatotypes are a coaching framework for tailoring training and nutrition, not a diagnosis. Use the result as practical guidance, not a fixed label.
