Frequently Asked Questions
Does this include the start and end dates?
The total days count is inclusive of the start date through the end date. If you select the same start and end date, the result is 1 day.
Are holidays excluded from weekdays?
No. The weekday count includes all Monday through Friday dates regardless of holidays. For exact business-day calculations excluding specific holidays, a dedicated business days calculator is recommended.
How is the years-months-days breakdown calculated?
It uses calendar-based subtraction: years are counted first, then remaining months, then remaining days. This gives a human-readable approximation rather than a strict mathematical division.
Can I use dates in the past or future?
Yes. You can select any historical or future dates. The calculator works in both directions and will always show a positive number of days.
