Online Calculator with History Tape
Every calculation you run is saved to a tape below the buttons, so you never lose track of a result.

Why a History Tape Matters
An online calculator with a history tape keeps a running record of your last 10 calculations, each shown as a full expression like 12.5 + 8.25 = 20.75. Instead of retyping work to double-check it, you can scroll the tape and confirm exactly which numbers and operators produced each result.

How the Tape Works
Each time you press equals, the finished expression is added to the top of the tape and the oldest entry drops off once you pass ten. Clearing with C empties the tape; CE only removes the current entry, so your history survives small corrections.
Practical Uses
- Splitting a bill: run 86.40 ÷ 4 = 21.6, then check the tape when someone asks how you got $21.60.
- Running totals: chain 45 + 30 + 12.75 = 87.75 and keep the expression as your receipt.
- Catching typos: if a total looks wrong, scan the tape for the entry where a digit slipped.
Worked Example
Three store runs cost $23.47, $18.20, and $41.33. Adding them gives 23.47 + 18.20 + 41.33 = 83, and the tape shows each step, so your $83.00 weekly total is easy to verify against the receipts later.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many calculations does the history keep?
The tape displays your last 10 completed calculations. When you finish an eleventh, the oldest entry drops off automatically.
Does clearing the calculator erase the history?
Pressing C resets the calculator and clears the tape. CE only clears the number you are currently typing and leaves the history intact.
Can I chain several operations in one calculation?
Yes. Entering 5 + 3 × 2 evaluates each pending operation as you go, working strictly left to right like a standard four-function calculator.
Does the calculator work on a phone?
Yes. The buttons are large and touch-friendly, so it works on phones and tablets as well as desktop browsers.
